Sempro is proud to announce the official opening of the Chinese Nanjing Pavilion on November 5th 2021. This festive opening took place with Mr. John Jorritsma, the Mayor of Eindhoven and Mr. Tan Jian, the Chinese Ambassador. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions the invitees were limited, but Sempro CEO Mr. Ewald Peters was invited to attend this.

The construction of the Chinees Paviljoen (Chinese Pavilion) in Strijp-S will start soon. On Tuesday evening, Eindhoven's politicians agreed to make more than EUR 1,8 million available for the building's construction. The money comes from a donation from the Chinese city of Nanjing.

De brute buitenmuren zonder ramen van het nieuwe Chinese paviljoen aan de Torenallee doen wel heel sober en strak aan. Misschien omdat we een meer frivool, traditioneel goud met rood Chinees gebouw hadden verwacht.

The pavilion is built from stones that are baked in Nanjing in an ancient traditional way. It is real handcraft, making each stone unique. The pavilion will house a Chinese restaurant with approximately thirty seats, which will be run by the Eindhoven hospitality entrepreneur Eveline Wu.
